Cedrika Provencher: Police resume search in wooded area where remains first found

WATCH ABOVE: Cedrika Provencher's remains were found last december, more than 8 years after she was reported missing. Tuesday police resumed their search.

TROIS-RIVIÈRES – Provincial police have resumed their search for clues in the death of Cédrika Provencher, whose partial remains were discovered last December.

On Tuesday, investigators returned to the wooded area in Saint-Maurice, just outside Trois-Rivières, where a hunter stumbled upon the little girl’s remains.

Provencher was reported missing July 31, 2007.

The nine-year-old was last seen asking people in her neighbourhood if they had seen a lost dog.

Sgt. Claude Denis with the Sûreté du Québec would not comment on what prompted the new search.
