Ten people face drug and weapons charges after police in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area raided a “significant drug trafficking network” and seized $1.4 million drugs, bulletproof vests and a loaded firearm.
On June 17, Halton Regional police ended a six-month investigation into a drug trafficking network dubbed “Project Skyway” after executing search warrants in the Halton and Hamilton area with the help of Hamilton, Waterloo and Niagara police.

Police seized eight kilograms of cocaine, 63 kilograms of dried marijuana, a cannabis “shatter” lab, 1.5 kilograms of psilocybin “magic” mushrooms, $106,000, a loaded 9 millimetre handgun, 16 Percocet pills, two ballistic vests and a replica handgun.
Investigators estimated the total street value of the drugs at more than $1.4 million, or $680,000 wholesale.
Police charged 10 suspects in connection with the raids:
- Anh Tuan Nguyen, 32, of Oakville, faces seven firearms related offences.
- Thanh Van Nguyen, 28, of Hamilton, has been charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
- Van Lo Nguyen, 34, of Hannon, Ont., has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
- Van Dung Le, 27, of Hamilton, has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
- Van Hai Hoang, 28, of Hamilton, has been charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
- Cuong Hoang, 31, of Hamilton, has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a controlled substance
- Kim Phuon Nguyen, 28, of Toronto, faces seven firearms related offences.
- Trevor Stafford, 34, of Hamilton, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of producing a controlled substance.
- Michael Greenaway, 35, of Hamilton, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of producing a controlled substance.
- Van Vuong Le, 53, of Hamilton, has been charged with one count possession for the purpose of trafficking and producing a controlled substance.
The Halton Regional Police Service said they had disrupted a significant drug trafficking network in the Halton-Hamilton corridor but anyone with knowledge related to this or other drugs and weapons crimes are asked to call the Halton Police Drug Unit at 905-878-5511 OR Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
