An arrest warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old Niagara Falls man, after police say he “seriously wounded” a man with a machete during a fight.

Niagara Regional police responded to the Hiram Street and Blondin Avenue area of Niagara Falls Friday night and said the stabbing happened after an altercation with the other man.

A search warrant was executed by police at the suspect’s home and police said the machete was recovered, in addition to around $1,000 in marijuana.

Terence Rivard, 32, of Niagara Falls, is wanted on one count of aggravated assault, one count of assault with a weapon and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
