Edmonton Eskimos lose Ojo for the season

EDMONTON – Edmonton Eskimos defensive back John Ojo ruptured his right Achilles tendon during practice Monday and is out for the season.

Ojo led the Eskimos in interceptions last season with five, including one for a touchdown, in his rookie year.

He had four tackles in the West Division final versus the Calgary Stampeders, and recorded a tackle and a special teams tackle in Edmonton’s Grey Cup victory over the Ottawa Redblacks.

The six-foot-three, 205-pound international back was named to the division and CFL all-star teams in 2015.
