Woman serious injured in central Alberta ATV rollover

One woman was seriously injured in an ATV collision in central Alberta on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to Clive, Alta., for an ATV rollover where the driver was thrown into a nearby ditch.

The ATV driver, a 41-year-old woman, was rushed to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.

RCMP said charges are pending against a 35-year-old man operating a second ATV who was present at the time of the rollover but refused to provide a breath sample.

Speed, alcohol and lack of appropriate safety gear are all being considered factors in the investigation, according to RCMP.

The village of Clive is located approximately 200 kilometres northeast of Calgary.
