64-year-old man dead after diving incident in southwestern Saskatchewan

A Regina man died this past weekend in what RCMP are investigating as a possible diving accident at Lovering Lake.

At around 12 p.m. on June 5, Craik RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible diving accident and sudden death at the lake, which is located near Chamberlain, Sask.

A 64-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the YMCA, the man’s name Frank Garrett and he died accidentally while scuba diving on Sunday. The YMCA also said he was a member and long-time volunteer.

Police say the death is not believed to be suspicious in nature. An autopsy will take place on June 6 or June 7 in Regina. Next of kin have been notified.
