UPDATE: Tyler Hurd charged with murder in Saskatoon’s 7th homicide of 2016
Police have two people into custody and are questioning them as the investigation into Saskatoon’s seventh homicide of 2016 continues.
At around 4:30 p.m. CT on June 3, officers were called to an injured person in the 400-block of Galloway Road in the Stonebridge neighbourhood.
They arrived to find Cynthia Crampton, 55, dead in her residence.
Police do not believe this was a random incident. An autopsy was scheduled to take place Monday.

Major Crime Unit (MCU) investigators were seeking to interview Tyler Hurd, 33, and Tammy Poffley, 52.
“They were identified through the investigation and determined to be people we wanted to speak to in relation to it,” Saskatoon police spokesperson Kelsie Fraser said.
Just after 11 p.m. on June 5, the pair were spotted in Asquith, Sask., and were last seen in a westbound vehicle on Highway 14.
Members of the Saskatoon police Air Support Unit (ASU) assisted RCMP in locating the vehicle east of Biggar, Sask.
Mounties attempted a traffic stop and took the woman into custody; however, the man fled in his vehicle.

“The vehicle was stopped, and the woman did exit the vehicle, the man continued travelling,” Fraser said.
“The use of the air support unit was instrumental in this incident in making sure the two people were apprehended as well as making sure that the officers on scene were safe.”
ASU continued to follow and relay the vehicle’s position as it turned off the highway and into a dark field.
The man abandoned the vehicle and continued his attempt to evade police on foot. Eventually, he was taken into custody by RCMP officers. A firearm was seized at the scene.
Both the man and woman’s outstanding warrants on other matters were executed and they were placed under arrest.
“In regards to the homicide, we expect charges to be laid later today,” Fraser said, in relation to Hurd.
Forensic identification and the chief coroner’s office are assisting with the active investigation.
