There is finally a plan for the former Saskatoon Co-op grocery store on 8th Street.
Co-op announced Thursday morning the building will be demolished to make room for a new home centre.
“Years of planning and many hours of commitment from our team at Saskatoon Co-op, along with the help of Federated Co-op, have allowed us to expand our home division centre,” said Grant Wicks, general manager of Saskatoon Co-op.

The new centre will have 35,000 square feet of retail space and a 25,000 square foot covered drive-through lumber yard, and will provide services for contractors and home owners.
Demolition of the current building will begin this month. The new home centre is expected to open in 2017.
