The Saskatchewan government tabled its 2016 budget Wednesday, and as expected the province is in the red. The deficit is projected at $434 million, which is up from the $260 million predicted in February.

There are generally two opposing schools of thought when it comes to deficits. Some think that using debt to spend through economic tough times can help rebound the overall economy. Others see it as simply deferring the problem and not tackling the real issues right now.
