Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams arrested two people and seized guns and drugs in downtown Red Deer.
On May 19, ALERT and RCMP searched a home in the 4900-block of 54 Street where they said the following weapons and drugs were seized:
- SKS semi-automatic carbine with collapsible stock
- .308-caliber semi-automatic rifle
- 7 mm rifle
- 12 gauge shotgun
- Body armour
- 9 grams of cocaine
- 98 suspected codeine pills
- $980 cash

ALERT said the guns were illegally possessed and will now go through forensic analysis to find out if they were used in previous crimes.
“This was a short-term investigation that will have a sizeable public safety impact. An arsenal such as this does not belong in the hands of drug dealers,” ALERT Insp. Chad Coles said.

Twenty-two-year-old Landon Dorval and 26-year-old Brittany Aebly have been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of careless storage of a firearm, four counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and four counts of a firearm for a dangerous purpose.
Dorval and Aebly were released and are scheduled to appear in court July 7.
