A Saskatoon police dog had to put the bite on a driver after he allegedly refused to stop for police. It started when an officer saw the driver shouting at a woman early Monday morning at 20th Street West and Avenue G South.
When the officer tried to stop the white GMC half-ton truck, the driver took off. He attempted to evade the officer by heading the wrong way on 22nd Street at excessive speeds.
It was determined the truck was registered to a man who was prohibited from driving Canada-wide.

The truck was located abandoned moments later behind an apartment building on Avenue N South.
A police dog located a man hiding nearby. He was taken into custody and treated for minor injuries for dog bites.
Police say a number of grocery and electronic items that had been reported stolen Sunday from a department store were located in the truck.
The 43-year-old Battleford man is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police, driving while disqualified and theft under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear Monday in Saskatoon provincial court.
