BAIE D’URFÉ – Two people are in hospital after a late night accident in Baie D’Urfé.
It happened around 12:35 a.m.
The 60-year-old driver was heading west on Lakeshore Drive when he apparently lost control of his car.
“The vehicle hit an electric pole, five cement blocks and two trees before ending up on its side,” said André Leclerc, a spokesperson with Montreal police.
The driver was taken to hospital in serious condition.
“At the beginning, he seemed to be conscious, but at the hospital, his condition got worst,” said Leclerc.
The passenger suffered a shoulder injury and was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police confirmed alcohol and excessive speed may have played a role in the accident.
