MONTREAL – Saint-Jean Boulevard in Pointe-Claire was closed to traffic for several hours after a crash that saw two injured when a car slammed into a lamppost before landing upside down.
The incident happened at 4: 20 a.m. Saturday when the driver of a car heading southbound on the boulevard lost control of his vehicle near Holiday Avenue.
“He hit a lamppost,” said Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant. “Following the impact the car landed upside down in the other lane.”
The 24-year-old man driving the car was rushed to hospital but police say his life is not in danger.
A 25-year-old male passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police believe that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash.
Police have requested a blood sample.
The investigation continues.
