Police investigating alleged assault and hostage incident in Surrey

One person is in custody following an alleged assault and hostage incident in Surrey on Thursday night.

Mounties said they were advised of an assault and possible hostage situation happening in the 10100-block of Whalley Boulevard on May 26 at about 8:30 p.m. When police arrived at the home they found a man suffering from injuries.

The man was taken to hospital with minor injuries and eventually released.

The police investigation showed the victim may have been held against his will for a period of time.

One person is in custody and police are continuing to question witnesses and gather evidence in the incident.
