Earlier this month, Johnston posted a Craigslist ad saying he was seeking a “young lady to spoil,” according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

An undercover agent responded to the ad, saying that she was under 13 years of age. Johnston continued to pursue the person through “increasingly sexualized emails, texts and chats,” eventually arranging to meet the person in Abbotsford for sex.

He was arrested this morning on his bicycle as he approached the border near Sumas, Washington.

None of the allegations against Johnston has been proven in court.
