Two people facing charges in death of Abbotsford man

Two people are facing charges in connection with the death of an Abbotsford man in February.

Shayne Daniel McGenn, 33, faces charges of second degree murder and Sarah Margaret Sather, also 33, is charged with accessory after the fact.

On Feb. 24, Abbotsford police were called to a home in the 2400-block of Center Street after a death was reported. After arriving at the home, police found a 63-year-old man, who had died of suspicious circumstances. Due to the nature of their findings the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was assigned the case.

McGenn, who was recently living in Penticton, has been taken into custody and will appear in Abbotsford Provincial Court on May 20 and Sather will appear on May 18.

Police said the victim and suspects are known to each other.
