The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is considering naming one of its new schools after the late Manmeet Bhullar.
The former PC MLA was killed in late November 2015 after stopping to help a fellow driver on the QEII Highway.

A school naming committee has suggested two possible names for a new elementary school set to be built in northeast Calgary, and is using an online survey to seek input before making its final recommendation.
The two names being considered are Manmeet Singh Bhullar School and Martindale School.

Those who complete the survey are also able to make other suggestions.
The school, located in the 1000 block of Martindale Boulevard N.E., will hold 600 students.

It is expected that the Board of Trustees will make a decision regarding the name of the school by the end of June 2016.
The new school is set to open in fall 2017.
