Calgary police seek woman in attempted Silver Springs child luring

Calgary police are investigating a possible child luring incident in the community of Silver Springs.

Officers were called to Silver Springs School at around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday after a boy told his mother a woman he didn’t know had tried to force him into her vehicle as he left school.

The child told investigators that the woman got out of a parked vehicle and approached him at around 3:30 p.m., telling him that she was there to pick him up.

When the child refused to go with her, the woman allegedly grabbed his arm. However, the boy the boy was able to get free and run back to the school, where he called his mother.

The suspect is described as being in her mid-30s, between 5’7” and 5’9” tall, with reddish hair that had brown roots, a medium build and dark pants. The vehicle is described as a red, four-door car.
