KFC-flavoured edible nail polish introduced by company in Hong Kong

While some fast food restaurants push the boundaries with extra burger patties or chicken fries, KFC has taken things to a whole new level.

The company, whose tagline is ‘Finger Lickin Good’, is introducing KFC-flavoured edible nail polish in Hong Kong.

The polish was developed by Ogilvy and Mather as a part of an ad campaign for the brand.

They worked with the “food technologists at McCormick, the makers of KFC’s 11 secret herbs and spices mix” to develop the polish, according to a statement.

“It is sourced from natural ingredients so the shelf life isn’t long,” John Koay, Ogilvie & Mather Hong Kong’s creative director told CampaignAsia. “There are no preservatives, not toxic bits, it’s all natural ingredients.”

There have been two flavours developed for KFC: Original and Hot & Spicy.

Fans can vote for their favourite flavour on Facebook and the winner will be made available at KFC stores in Hong Kong.

An odd music video has also been released to help push the polish.
