Windsor man charged after 91-year-old motel worker assaulted, robbed: police

A 39-year-old Windsor, Ont. man has been charged after police say a man pushed a 91-year-old motel employee before robbing the cash register and escaping.

Windsor police responded to a robbery at the motel on Huron Church Road in Windsor on April 24 at about 10 p.m.

Officers arrived and said a 91-year-old woman working at the motel informed them that the suspect had paid for a week but was leaving early and a disagreement erupted over a refund.

Police say the woman complained that the man then pushed her, took an unknown quantity of money from the cash register and fled the area.

The woman was not injured in the incident. Investigators reviewed surveillance video and said they were able to identify the suspect, who was located in the 2400 block of Dougall Avenue on Thursday morning and arrested. Shawn Bradt has been charged with one count of robbery.
