“The man covered the victim’s mouth in what is believed to be an attempt to stifle her screams before fleeing the home,” police said in a news release.

The victim’s two-year-old daughter was asleep at the time. Neither she nor her mother was injured during the incident.

Police don’t believe the break and enter was targeted, and said it appears the man gained entry to the home through an unlocked door.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
