Court date set for fatal Vernon crash

VERNON — A trial date has been set for a woman accused in a Vernon crash that killed a nurse and seriously injured another.

Lori Vance, 39, will be tried by a BC Supreme Court judge starting next February 14th.

She is facing eight charges in connection with an early morning crash on October 23, 2014 when a van allegedly ran a red light and T-boned a car in downtown Vernon.

The crash killed 33 year old Erin Smith, a nurse from Kelowna, and left her 31 year old co-worker Lindsay Hauck of Vernon, with serious injuries.

Vance is facing charges that include impaired driving causing death and bodily harm, and dangerous driving causing death and bodily harm.
