Police identify 17-year-old fatally stabbed in west-end Toronto, ask public for help

Police have identified a 17-year-old male fatally stabbed in west-end Toronto earlier this year and are appealing to the public for help finding suspects.

Toronto police said the teenager was found with multiple stab wounds behind a highrise apartment building just after 7 p.m. on Feb. 3.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at The West Mall near Rathburn Road.

Toronto police Det.-Sgt. Steve Ryan says surveillance video appears to show two males being chased by two others and one of them was caught and stabbed.

He said the video is “quite grainy” and police don’t have clear descriptions of the suspects.

On Monday, police identified the deceased as Saed Keyliye, 17, of Toronto. An autopsy determined the cause of death was a stab wound.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspects in the video and are asking any witnesses to come forward and speak to investigators or Crime Stoppers.
