The charges come after University RCMP were called to a break-and-enter at the 5700-block of Birney Avenue, in UBC’s southern residential neighbourhood, at 2:15 a.m. Saturday. Two suspects were immediately arrested and taken into custody.

RCMP Sgt. Annie Linteau said the alleged victims and suspects were not known to each other.

However, she did not say whether the two men are suspected in connection to a series of sexual assaults and break and enters that happened on campus in March.

“We’re continuing into our investigation into a series of suspicious instances…that happened on campus since the beginning of March, but it’s really too early to say at this time say whether this incident is connected,” she said.
