About 100,000 people are expected to pack the Stampede Park over the weekend for the 2016 Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo.

Celebrity guests set to appear include William Shatner, Brandon Routh from Superman Returns, Finn Jones from Game of Thrones, Garrett Wang from Star Trek: Voyager, Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton from Harry Potter, Joey Fatone from N’Sync, Peter Mayhew from Star Wars,  and Tom Payne from The Walking Dead.

In addition, legendary comic book creator Stan Lee is making good on his promise to visit Calgary after cancelling a scheduled appearance last year.

Certain special events take place outside of the main convention, such as the Parade of Wonders. The parade is an annual cosplay march through downtown Calgary. It begins at Eau Claire Market plaza at 10 a.m.

“I think Calgary just has a really great creative energy to it,” said spokesperson Emily Expo. “Whether you’re into comic books or art or science fiction or films or new music, all different kinds of art forms, like this is really a great place to be.”
