Portage Terriers freshman forward Nick Henry has been nominated for the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Rookie of the Year Award.

The 16-year-old Portage la Prairie product was named the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s top rookie after scoring 26 goals and 35 assists in 50 games. He also helped the Terriers win their second straight Turnbull Cup. Portage will play in this weekend’s Western Canada Cup which features two berths to next month’s national championship.

The CJHL awards will be handed out during the week of May 9 to 13.
