MONTREAL NORTH – A group of activists is working to fight anti-black racism in Montreal North.
Montreal Noir is a collective of residents living in the neighbourhood that was formed after the death of Jean-Pierre Bony.

Bony was hit by a plastic bullet and fell out of a window during a drug raid on March 31, 2016.
He died in hospital a few days later.

The group is calling on mayoral candidates in the borough to propose solutions to what it calls systematic racial profiling and a high poverty rate.
Montreal North is one of the most ethnically diverse boroughs in the city.
