Homicide detectives were called to 115th Avenue and 137th Street in west Edmonton's Woodcroft neighbourhood at around 10 p.m. Thursday, after a man was seriously assaulted. April 15, 2016.

Police said the 34-year-old man died of his injuries Saturday afternoon. His death has been ruled Edmonton’s 15th homicide of 2016.
An autopsy confirmed Kelly Thompson died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
At around 10 p.m. Thursday, police were called to the area of 137 Street and 115 Avenue after a man was found lying on the ground with significant injuries.
Police said four or five suspects wearing dark clothes and hoods got out of the vehicle, hit the man several times with baseball bats and then left the scene in a vehicle.
