LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – A 46-year-old man is facing 28 criminal charges after hundreds of guns and ammunition were discovered inside a north Lethbridge house.
Police were called to the house in the 200 block of 15 Street North at 6:20 p.m. on Friday after a complaint.
When police checked the house, they discovered numerous weapons, ammunitions and suspected explosive devices, all of which were later seized.
Police remain tight-lipped about the investigation but said that the public is not in any danger at this point. The guns seized ranged from handguns to rifles to machine guns and included a First World War-era Vickers machine gun.
Late Saturday morning, police said officers had already seized 34 items from the home even though they had “barely made a dent.”
By Saturday afternoon, police had seized over 114 items.
The Explosive Disposal Unit and the Department of National Defense were called to the scene to investigate and will test several items to see if further criminal charges will be laid.
Patrick Harvey Rossetti was taken into custody and will appear in court Monday morning.
