Manitoba Election 2016: Fort Richmond riding

Summary: Minister of Family Services Kerri Irvin-Ross seeks a fourth term in Fort Richmond, a riding in southern Manitoba.

Boundaries: Centred around the University of Manitoba, the riding is bordered by Red River to the east, the rail line next to Pembina Highway to the west, Chevrier Boulevard to the north, and the Perimeter Highway to the south.

Last Election: Irvin-Ross defeated PC candidate Shaun McCaffrey by over 1100 votes, 53-28 per cent.

History: The riding was only created prior to the last election, but the area has generally been a swing region of the city, having elected PC candidates during the Gary Filmon era.
