West Kelowna targets litter bugs

WEST KELOWNA–Litter bugs beware!

The city is asking the public to help stop littering and illegal dumping.

Residents can report illegal dumping to West Kelowna’s Bylaw Enforcement Department by calling (778) 797-8810 or emailing info@westkelownacity.ca

If possible, people are asked to provide a licence plate number and a vehicle description.  Pictures and videos are also welcome!

Fines of up to $250 will be charged for dumping in public areas like road sides, parks, park trash bins, city properties, city waste receptacles, and on crown land.

Anyone who finds that have more household garbage, recycling or yard waste than they can manage can order extra curbside containers.

To order more bins, visit Municipal Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday or download a form online at www.westkelownacity.ca/wastemanagement and return it by person or by mail to Municipal Hall, 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna, B.C. V1Z 2T6
