Damage pegged at $300K in Saskatoon house fire

SASKATOON – A house fire in Saskatoon Wednesday evening has caused an estimated $300,000 in damage. Fire crews were called out to 438 Kirkpatrick Court in the Dundonald neighbourhood around 10:50 p.m. CT.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house.

Two people living at the home were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and were able to evacuate.

Crews entered the home and knocked down the flames on the main level while the house was searched.

No one was injured, however a family cat died in the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
