He decided to take matters into his own hands.

He bought a bag of topsoil for .99 cents, grabbed a shovel and made a video demonstrating how easy it is to fill potholes.

Financial news and insights delivered to your email every Saturday.

“Potholes, bridges, everything is collapsing,” he declared in the video.

“I’m going to do something now – come and see this massive pothole.”

He fills the pothole with dirt and smooths it out with a shovel.

“Look at this job, how nice. Look at this. This is something I wanted to do three years ago,” he said.

“It’s not like I woke up and suddenly decided to complain about this,” he told Global News.

Global News contacted a city spokesperson, who said this was the first she had heard of the video.

The topsoil solution lasted only about a day, Riccio said.
