SASKATOON – One person is in custody after a stolen vehicle was involved in a crash Friday morning. Saskatoon police officers first spotted the Nissan Rogue around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of 29th Street and Avenue H North.

The driver refused to stop for police and attempted to evade officers for a short distance.

Police called off the chase due to safety concerns.

The Rogue was then involved in a crash with another vehicle a short time later in the City Park neighbourhood.

Witnesses told police two people ran from the vehicle.

One man was arrested by patrol officers and the search continues for the second suspect.

A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded .22-calibre rifle along with ammunition for another firearm.
