A day after severe weather battered parts of southern Texas on Monday, residents in southern Louisiana battled serious storms that produced tornadoes and damaging winds.
The storms also produced a trio of waterspouts off the coast of New Orleans.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service had issued severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches across southern Louisiana and Mississippi.
The storm is part of a system that is expected to make its way north causing severe weather through the northern states as well as Canada. Already, parts of southern Ontario are under winter storm warnings and watches.
