CALGARY- Calgary police are investigating after shots were fired into a house in the northeast community of Martindale early Saturday morning.
Police received several calls around 3:00 a.m. from neighbours who heard the shots being fired.
A man who lives in the home with his older brother and parents, told Global News his parents were home at the time of the shooting. No one was injured.
“That’s my older brother’s bedroom,” he said, referring to the two bullet holes near the upstairs bedroom window. He did not want to give his name.
Ammar Nasiem lives across the street from the house and just moved into the neighbourhood.
“It’s scary. Very scary because I thought this was a peaceful neighborhood,” said Nasiem.
Officers believe it was a targeted shooting, but it’s not clear if it was gang related. The man who lives in the home believes otherwise.
“It could be random, I really don’t know right now.”
Investigators haven’t identified any possible suspects.
