REGINA – A mild winter has meant a seven per cent reduction in natural gas usage in Saskatchewan this season. The Crown corporation had already dropped rates last fall and now customers are seeing even bigger reductions in their bill.

Dave Burdeniuk of SaskEnergy says customers have probably saved as much as $50 over the winter.

It also may mean SaskEnergy saves money.

Burdeniuk says the utility won’t have to purchase as much because it will come out of the winter with more gas in storage.
