WINNIPEG — Former Manitoba men’s curling champion Earle Morris will be among the five people inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame next month.
The 70-year-old is the first person to represent three different provinces at the Brier. Morris qualified for his first national championship in 1980 after his CFB Winnipeg Curling Club team captured the Labatt Tankard, the Manitoba championship’s name at the time. Morris also played in the Brier with Quebec in 1982 and Ontario in 1985.
Morris later coached Winnipegger Jennifer Jones, two-time Scotties champion Rachel Homan, Pat Simmons and his son John Morris. Morris has won one world championship, two world silver medals and two world bronze medals during his coaching career.

The Canadian Curling Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place March 9 in Ottawa. Joining Morris are Quebec’s Pierre Charette, wheelchair curler Ina Forrest, BC’s Darryl Neighbour and journalist Bob Weeks.
