RCMP investigate possible abduction of teen in Fort McMurray

EDMONTON — Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating the possible abduction of a teenage girl.

A concerned citizen told police they saw an older man put a teenage girl in his white SUV at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. It happened in the area of Paquette Drive and Powder Drive.

Police said the male suspect is older with a stocky build and short hair. He was wearing a light-coloured jacket. He was driving a very clean, mid-size, new model, boxy white SUV, police said. It had silver trim.

The girl is believed to be a teenager and she was wearing a backpack at the time, according to police.

On Friday morning, police were stopping and talking to motorists around the intersection of Powder Drive and Paquette Drive in hopes of getting some information about the reported incident.
