Cab drivers had gathered near Sherbrooke Street and Rene Levesque Boulevard in Montreal around 6:00 a.m Wednesday morning.

Things quickly got heated when a group of taxi drivers spotted an Uber driver dropping off a customer in front of a building.

As the SUV rolls up in front of the group of cabbies, the passenger is seen exiting the rear passenger-side door.

“Uber! Uber! Uber!” the group yelled as they pelted the vehicle with eggs.

The suspected Uber driver attempted to drive away with the vehicle covered in egg yolk but not before a man dumps what appears to be flour over the windshield of the SUV.

The taxi industry in both provinces has said UberX continues to operate illegally, without permits.

This isn’t the first cab drivers tossed eggs at suspected UberX drivers. Last summer a group of taxi drivers armed with two dozen eggs stormed two UberX drivers and pelted their cars with eggs.

Last week, a mass anti-Uber protest was expected to shutdown much of Toronto’s downtown core ahead of the NBA All-Star weekend. However, the protest was called off after “productive discussions” with city councillors.

Montreal protests are expected to continue the rest of the week.
