2 facing drug charges after police seize cocaine, fentanyl, meth in Medicine Hat bust

Two Medicine Hat men are facing a string of charges including drug trafficking after they were arrested early Friday morning in the police search of a home on Sage Road in the southern Alberta city.

ALERT reported seizing 12 fentanyl pills, 10 grams of methamphetamine, 12 grams of cocaine, $2,270 in cash, a digital scale as well as what police describe as “other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.”

Sterling Caines, 30, of Medicine Hat was charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine, breach of probation and breach of a peace bond.

Wayne Shrubsall, 43, also of Medicine Hat, was charged with trafficking cocaine, four counts of drug possession, possession of proceeds of crime and breach of recognizance in relation to a previous ALERT investigation that concluded in June 2015.

ALERT Medicine Hat is an integrated team consisting of Medicine Hat Police Service and RCMP members.
