2 charged in armed robbery of a Saskatoon lounge

SASKATOON – Two people are set to see a justice of the peace after an armed robbery early Friday morning in Saskatoon. According to police, two people armed with a gun robbed a restaurant and lounge in the 2200-block of 22nd Street around 2:30 a.m. CT.

Witnesses were able to provide officers with descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle they took off in.

Police stopped the vehicle a short time later and say they recovered a firearm and proceeds from the robbery.

A 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman are charged with robbery with a firearm and using a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

They were scheduled to see a justice of the peace on Friday.
