REGINA – The City of Regina has found a new City Manager.
On Wednesday morning the mayor announced after a country-wide search, long-time city employee Chris Holden will be the new city manager.
“Although we cast a wide net, it is a testament to those who work for the City on behalf of residents that we pursued someone with home-grown experience,” said Mayor Fougere.
“Councillors and I are confident Mr. Holden will lead our city to continued smart, sustainable growth as outlined in our Official Community Plan. His public service experience and collaborative approach will serve Reginans well.”

Holden started working for the City as a life guard. He’s also held several diverse roles of increasing responsibility within the city during his 38-year career. For eight years Holden was the Director of Community Services, and he is leaving his current role as Director of Communications.
“I have made my life in Regina, so it is a great privilege to be able to manage one of Canada’s greatest cities,” said Holden.
“I look forward to working closely with the Mayor and Council and our talented team of employees to continue delivering quality services and programs to residents and to building our community.”
Holden’s first official day on the job will be on March 1st, after ratification of his appointment at the February 29 council meeting.
