The death of a 56-year-old woman who died in a Columbia Boulevard apartment Sunday is now officially considered a homicide, police said Tuesday.
A day after Global News learned her identity, police confirmed the victim was Frances Candice Little Light, of Lethbridge. Officials did not release details on the cause of her death after an autopsy was completed in Calgary.
Police said at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday, emergency officials got a report of a severely injured female in an apartment along the 100 block of Columbia Boulevard. Little Light was found in her apartment, and was pronounced dead a short time later.
“Several people from the apartment were subsequently detained for questioning and a search of the area was conducted by the K9 Unit,” police said in a statement.
There were no suspects in custody as of Tuesday afternoon. Police are continuing to interview people as the investigation continues.
