Three employees of the Halifax Regional Municipality’s parking enforcement service provider have been charged for submitting invalid parking tickets.
Halifax police say the three men submitted about 2,200 parking tickets between April 28, 2014 and Oct. 23, 2015 with fabricated or invalid license plate numbers.

The tickets were not placed on vehicles and were only written for out of province or out of country plates. Police say there is no evidence to suggest they fabricated tickets involving Nova Scotia plates.
Two 21-year-old men were arrested arrested on Feb. 2 and a third, 22-year old man was arrested on Feb. 3. They were released with the promise to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on March 15 on charges of breach of trust and uttering a forged document.
Police started their investigation into the forged tickets after a representative from Municipal Compliance reported a number of invalid tickets to police on Oct. 20, 2015.
