TransLink’s newest recruit has everything it takes to succeed — a good attitude, good problem-solving abilities, excellent people skills.
Everything, that is, except a name.
That’s why the Transit Police are holding a contest to find a name for the 10-month-old chocolate lab they are training to become a bomb-sniffing dog.
“We want students from kindergarten all the way through to Grade 12 to send us their best idea for a name for our puppy,” Transit Police spokesperson Anne Drennan said.

The new recruit is currently learning the ropes from Hershey, a bomb-sniffing dog that has been on the job for two years.
It will be a few more months until she will be fully trained to sniff out trouble.
