EDMONTON – Fort Saskatchewan RCMP identified the person whose remains were found northeast of Edmonton Jan. 10 as 38-year-old Junior Morris Laidley.
The Edmonton man was reported missing on Jan. 13.
The remains were found around 5 p.m. inside a burned-out vehicle in a rural area of Lamont County, on Township Road 572 between Range Roads 201 and 202.
After making the discovery, RCMP said they were treating the death as suspicious.
The burned-out vehicle was a white, two-door 2013 BMW 328i coupe.
RCMP are asking anyone with information about Laidley’s activities on or after Jan. 4 – when he was last seen by friends – to contact the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP detachment at 780-992-6100.
