WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Moose might not have a player at this years AHL All-Star Classic.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was the only player on the Moose selected to take part in this years festivities but is currently up with the Winnipeg Jets and would only be able to take part in the unlikely event the Jets send him back to the Moose.

Hellbuyck, 22, appeared in 10 games with the Moose prior to getting called up in November. He posted a 2.41 goals against average along with a .927 save percentage. In 13 games since getting recalled by the Jets he has a sparkling 1.93 goals against average. It’s the second all-star selection for Hellebuck who appeared in last year’s game as a member of the St. John’s IceCaps.

Each of the AHL’s four divisions are represented by 13 players. Rosters were chosen by a committee of AHL coaches and all 30 teams are supposed to be represented by at least one all-star selection so Hellebuyck could be replaced by Eric Comrie who has filled in admirably for the Moose in Hellbuyck’s absence.
