EDMONTON – A home was heavily damaged by fire in southeast Edmonton’s Ellerslie area late Friday night.
Fire crews were called just after 10:30 p.m. to 7931 2nd Avenue. They arrived to find flames shooting from the roof and back of the house.

“The seven crews that responded worked aggressively, and we had the fire under control in about 50 minutes,” said Mark Keates, the captain at Station 27.
Everyone inside the home got out safely, but the house did suffer extensive damage.
The cause has not yet been determined.
