KELOWNA, B.C. – Cole Linaker scored the only goal for the WHL Kelowna Rockets who were defeated by the Prince George Cougars 2-1 Friday night.

“We came out flat in the third,” said Linaker. “It’s a giveaway. We should have had that game. Like I say, it’s tough to swallow.”

The loss snapped the Rockets three game winning streak in the process, dropping the Rockets record to 9-5-0-0 on the season.

Jackson Whistle suffered the loss in net as the Rockets outshot Prince George 31-20.

“It wasn’t good enough,” Kelowna Coach Brad Ralph told reporters after the game. “We came out OK in the first period… it felt like our power play let us down. We didn’t gain any momentum. (We) probably lost momentum off our power play tonight. At the end of the day, I though they won the third period. They wanted it more than we did. They worked us in the third period. They won a hockey game because of it.”
